The evil Sith Lord is going to attack the planet. Master Yoda needs you to learn as much as you can about fossils, so you can help recreate fossilized animals to protect the planet. - Using Playposit, watch, listen, and learn about fossils. Click the link for Fossil Formation. Check your understanding during the video by answering the questions in English.
- Listen and read about Earth fossils from the two news articles. Print 2 copies of the KWL graphic organizer to take notes. This can be in your first language. Click the links below to listen to news articles about fossils from around the world: Spinosaurus and Tar Pits.
- Find out the main ideas and details of the news articles. Type your notes into the Word Cloud. This can be in your first language. Meet with your "Lightsaber" partner to discuss what the main ideas and details of the articles. Use the Word Cloud to explain your thinking.
- Summarize your main ideas and details into an audio file to share with your Jedi classmates. Print 2 copies of the Speaking Rubric. Click and login to Voxopop. Record your summary in our TalkGroup using English. Listen to your recording and evaluate yourself with the speaking rubric. Evaluate a peer's summary with the 2nd copy of the rubric and share with your peer.
